Fanaberia

Fanaberia is a long-running art project to create a free space in Cherkasy for artistic eccentricity.

The art project “Fanaberia” is being started as an attempt to create a new artistic space in Cherkasy — free of officialdom, open to experiment and to argument. During the project there will be works of visual art, music and theatre events, film.

31 May, Friday — opening: presentation, a set by the band Hych Orchestra 1 June, Saturday, 16:00 — a programme of Ukrainian animated films 18:00 — a set by the band Temnyi Parad 2 June, Sunday, 18:00 — a set by the band Kuku Shanel 7 June, Friday, 18:00 — the Open Night film festival presents a programme of Ukrainian short films. Special guest: director Dmytro Sukholytkyi-Sobchuk. 9 June, Sunday, 18:00 — a mystery play by the Virginalis theatre. 9 June, Sunday — closing.

From 1 to 9 June the exhibition is open 12:00–19:00. Entry to events from 10 UAH.

During the art project “County Fanaberia” a group of artists from Cherkasy, Kyiv and Lviv will use their work — painting, installation, objects, video — to build a visual environment inside which the other events take place: band performances, a theatre production, film screenings. Discussions and improvisations may follow.
