Tribute to the great Kobzar

Dear friends,

On 6 February 2013 at 15:00, the Kobzar Museum opens the traditional annual exhibition “Cherkasy artists in a wreath of honour to the great Kobzar”.

Everyone is warmly welcome.

The museum is at: 37 Baidy-Vyshnevetskoho St., Cherkasy, Ukraine. It occupies a memorial building — the Tsybulsky mansion — where Taras Shevchenko himself stayed from 18 to 22 July 1859, as the plaque on the museum wall records. The idea of this unique museum was put forward in 1988, and a year later, in May 1989, the Museum of Shevchenko’s “Kobzar” opened in the Tsybulsky house. Standing at the origin of the idea and of the museum was Olha Sharapa, a great-great-great-granddaughter of Taras Shevchenko through his brother Mykyta, and she has led the institution since it was founded.

Open 9:00–17:00. Closed Monday and Friday.
