“The Medical Board” is the second exhibition of the project “Chkalov’s Visions”. In starting this project the artists had in mind the hero as such: here Chkalov becomes a common noun. The first exhibition of the project was about the motives that push a person onto the heroic path. This one, “The Medical Board”, is about the obstacles that can stop a person becoming a hero and living out their dreams. Every member of society carries the moral injuries of those first medical examinations and boards, during which a young person is moved out of the category of a spiritual being with the whole world open before them and into the category of a tiny cog in a general, incomprehensible process.
