The Impatient Adulterer. A Dialogue with Aubrey Beardsley

This collage continues a conversation with Aubrey Beardsley’s drawings across more than a century. A male figure, drawn in red ink, is combined with pages from an old Spanish-language book and a vintage photograph found at an antiques market in Barcelona. The red line passes from the drawing onto the photograph, connecting different times and ways of depicting the body. The gaze, desire and intimacy become the shared language of this dialogue, while the old book pages preserve fragments of stories that take on new meaning.
